Overview and Eligibility
Bank PO exams are conducted by various banks and recruiting bodies in India, such as the State Bank of India (SBI), Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), and individual public sector banks. The Bank PO exam is held to recruit candidates for the position of Probationary Officer (PO) in these banks.
Probationary Officers (POs) are entry-level management positions in banks, and they play a crucial role in various banking operations, including customer service, branch management, and sales of banking products. The Bank PO exam typically consists of sections such as English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge.
Candidates who successfully clear the Bank PO exam undergo training and probation periods before being assigned to specific roles within the bank.
Educational Qualification:Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Those who are in the final year of their bachelor's degree program are also eligible to apply, provided they produce proof of passing the graduation examination on or before the specified date.
Age Limit: The age criteria may vary slightly from year to year and is generally between 21 years and 30 years. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen, as per government norms.
Other Requirements: Candidates should possess good communication skills, both written and verbal. They should also be computer literate.
